Fendi
Fendi, a brand of high-end clothing, was founded in 1918 when Adele Casagrande opened a leather and fur shop in Rome. Adele married Edoardo Fendi in 1925 - it was then that they changed the name to Fendi. In 1965, German designer Karl Lagerfeld, one who created the inverted FF logo, joined the Fendis. They transformed fur into soft, light, and easy-to-wear garments. Lagerfeld also brought imaginative designs to lower-priced furs while still retaining the quality. They were discovered by foreign buyers, such as Marvin Traub, president of Bloomingdale's who introduced them to the United States. The company has grown to produce writing instruments, timepieces, eyewear and fragrances.
