Faconnable
Tailor Jean Goldberg gains a reputation for quality and skill after opening a small tailor shop on Rue Paradis in 1950. He and his son Albert tailored tuxedos and evening wear for the elites. In 1961, Albert branched out to launch his own collection, Faconnable, and opened several boutiques. The brand Faconnable introduced a new collection of accessories, including hand-stitched leather wallets and cigar cases. In 1988, the brand is made available at Nordstroms in the United States; the company also launched sportswear for women. In 2000, partners Albert Goldberg and Jean-Pierre Benaym sells their brand to Nordstrom's Inc. to ensure its continued success.
